Walklytics ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application ("App"). Please read this privacy policy carefully. If you do not agree with the terms of this privacy policy, please do not access the App.

Important Notice: Walklytics is not available for download in European Union App Stores.

2. Information We Collect

We collect information about you in various ways when you use our App.

2.1 Personal Information You Provide

  • Name: Collected during onboarding to personalize your experience
  • Contact Information: Email address (if provided for support purposes)

2.2 Health and Fitness Data

We access the following specific health data types through Apple HealthKit:

  • Step count data
  • Walking and running distance
  • Walking time and duration
  • Heart rate data (if available)
  • Walking speed and pace information

Important: Your health data from HealthKit is:

  • Accessed and processed locally on your device
  • Never uploaded to our servers
  • Not stored in any cloud services
  • Only used to display your activity within the app
  • Not used for marketing or advertising purposes
  • Cannot be accessed without your explicit consent through Apple Health

2.3 Automatically Collected Information

When you use our App, we automatically collect:

Device Information

  • Device model and manufacturer
  • Operating system version
  • Unique device identifiers
  • App version
  • Language and timezone settings

Usage Data (via Mixpanel)

  • App features used
  • Time spent in the App
  • Navigation patterns
  • Goal creation and achievement
  • Subscription status
  • In-app actions (e.g., card expansions, button clicks)

Crash and Performance Data (via Firebase Crashlytics)

  • Crash logs and stack traces
  • App performance metrics
  • Device state at time of crash
  • Custom logs related to app stability

2.4 Payment Information

  • Subscription status
  • Purchase history (through Apple's payment system)
  • Transaction identifiers

Note: We do not have access to your credit card or payment method details. All payments are processed by Apple.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • Provide premium features to subscribers

Purpose: Access health and fitness data
Data Collected: Steps, distance, walking time
Privacy: Data remains on device, not transmitted to our servers

4.4 Apple StoreKit

Purpose: In-app purchases and subscriptions
Data Collected: Purchase transactions, subscription status
Privacy: Handled by Apple's payment system

5. Data Storage and Security

5.1 Local Storage

  • Health data from HealthKit is stored only on your device
  • User preferences and goals are stored locally
  • No health data is transmitted to our servers

5.2 Cloud Services

  • Analytics data is stored on Mixpanel's secure servers
  • Crash reports are stored on Google's Firebase servers
  • We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data

5.3 Data Retention

  • Analytics data: Retained for up to 2 years
  • Crash reports: Retained for 90 days
  • Local data: Retained until you delete the App

6. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information. We may share information in the following situations:

6.1 Service Providers

With third-party service providers who perform services on our behalf (Mixpanel, Firebase)

6.2 Legal Requirements

If required by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities

6.3 Protection of Rights

To protect our rights, privacy, safety, or property, and/or that of our users

6.4 Business Transfers

In connection with any merger, sale of company assets, or acquisition

7. Your Rights and Choices

7.1 Access and Update

You can access and update your personal information within the App settings

7.2 HealthKit Permissions

You can revoke HealthKit access at any time through iOS Settings > Privacy > Health

7.3 Analytics Opt-Out

You can opt-out of analytics by:

  • Disabling analytics in App settings (feature coming soon)
  • Using iOS's Limit Ad Tracking feature

7.4 Delete Your Data

You can delete all local data by:

  • Using the "Reset All Data" option in settings
  • Deleting the App from your device

7.5 Data Portability

Your health data can be exported through Apple Health app

8. Children's Privacy

Our App is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete such information.

9. International Data Transfers

Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your country of residence. These countries may have data protection laws different from your country. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place for such transfers.

10. California Privacy Rights (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, you have the right to:

  • Know what personal information we collect
  • Know whether your personal information is sold or disclosed
  • Say no to the sale of personal information
  • Access your personal information
  • Request deletion of your personal information
  • Not be discriminated against for exercising your privacy rights

11. European Users - App Availability

Walklytics is not available for download in European Union App Stores. The App cannot be downloaded from App Stores in EU member states.

12. Do Not Track Signals

The App does not respond to Do Not Track signals. However, you can limit tracking through iOS privacy settings.

13. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by:

  • Posting the new Privacy Policy in the App
  • Updating the "Last Updated" date
  • Sending a notification through the App for material changes
